The Ilyushin IL-96 is a large Russian airliner capable of carrying up to 375 passengers. It is available in two versions: the IL-96M and the IL-96T. The IL-96M is an evolution of the IL-96-300, with a fuselage lengthened by about 9 metres, equipped with Western avionics and Pratt & Whitney PW2337 engines. The IL-96T is a cargo version with a large 3.6 x 2.6 metre door in the front of the fuselage, making it easier to load and unload cargo. Designed to replace the IL-62, the IL-96 began its design in 1985 and is intended to compete with the Airbus A330 and A340 in the Russian market
